Welcome to the first world tour of a vehicle powered only by solar energy!
Short stopover in Sweden26.11.2008

When I drove over the Oeresund bridge, for the first time I thought the solartaxi would eventually fly away. We had a very strong side wind, but it turned out to be big fun for my co-pilot Sam and me. Crossing the bridge costed full 71 Euro, no discounts for cars which are lighter and even registered as a motorbike. I guess when they saw my trailer they put me in the truck category. However, I would have loved to stay longer in Sweden. Our Friend Sven Forsberg had arranged a press event, some food and two lectures for me, so I was busy booked and havent seen anything of Malmoe. But who cares, it was a dark day and after 17 months, I wasnt really up to sightseeing in cold weather. In the late evening we left again, on the highway we rushed down to Trelleborg. And what a surprise, the guy at the counter of Scanlines loved our car and he only charged the motorbike price: 49 Euro for the 7 hour journey across the Sea, from Sweden to Germany´s Rostock. There was almost noone on board, and a nice lady at the counter gave us some ear plugs, so we couldnt hear neither Juerg snoaring nor the engine noise.
