Ooooh Champs-Elysees!!03.11.2008

We got to Paris now, first stop in a big European big city, and first thing we took some pictures on the Champs-Elysees and before the Eiffel Tower, and I drove the solartaxi about a dozen times around the Arch de Triomphe. This should be the last day of our cameraman Erik travelling with us, so we had big fun cruising down the Champs-Elysees and singing "ooooh Champs-Elysees, ta ta ta ta ta, s'il y a du soleil..."
Then we were looking for a Fire station for charging the battery (the sun wasn't showing off at all) and we asked at least 10 gendarmes (policemen), but none of them knew the nearest fire station. They told us we should call telephone 18 to find out. Believe this!! Finally we left the solartaxi in the Swiss Embassy.
Today we met French environmental minister Jean-Louis Borloo. It was a great event, prepared in cooperation with the Swiss Embassy, with lots of media. A great welcome back to Europe! And the minister made it clear, that solutions exist, but the consumers must push the producers to build such cars. Then he rang up Peugeot, and a few hours later I was welcome by France's largest car company and we shared some ideas. After GM in Detroit this was our second visit to a car manufacturer.
