I dedicate a special page to Vermont. Even though I only spent two days in Vermont, I liked it very much. Green hills, many forests, and a deep blue Lake Champlain almost made me feel like getting closer to home. While we still had a heat in New York, the temperature has dropped considerably the further more North I got. Most of the time I drove alone, just accompanied by Christopher, a solar car enthusiast from neighburing New Hampshire. On a tiny little border crossing, I finally made it out of the US, after all together 2.5 months. In no other country I spent nearly so much time. I am happy that I visited the US, I felt very welcome, and I am even more happy now that I can say that I didn't encounter any problem at all there. Vermont gave me the feeling that this State was something special, not really part of the United States. I encountered great welcomes in Brattleboro and Burlington, nice people and interested folks.
