The United Nations have pubished a report saying that 60 % of the coral reefs of this world will be seriously damaged until the year 2020, without any chance to recover. Hearing this, I wanted to see the world famous coral reefs of the Red Sea in Aqaba. Considering the special circumstances of the Gulf of Aqaba (its depth of 2000 meters and the width of only 14 kms) scienists say that global warming has not heated up the water yet, so the coral reefs seem to do fine, a least here.
